MEd in Teacher Education: Elementary Science Education

Program Overview

The online Master of Education in Teacher Education: Elementary Science Education is designed for elementary school teachers who want to focus on science teaching and would like to advance their careers. This program can help you become an instructional leader in NC elementary science education. This course of study consists of 30 credit hours and explores the issues of:

  • Curriculum
  • Pedagogy
  • Assessment
  • Research
  • Elementary science education content

The program emphasizes equitable, engaging, rigorous, and responsive science, engineering, and environmental education. You’ll observe and student teach in local elementary schools, and have a chance to attend and present at conferences. Besides wide-ranging research interests, you may also be involved with other funded projects. If you like science and improving elementary school, this is the program for you.
