The Online Master’s Program in Speech-Language Pathology in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is committed to providing the next generation of clinicians with the highest quality academic, research and clinical training in the assessment/treatment and prevention of communication and swallowing disorders.

We also aim to instill in these future health care providers a desire to actively contribute to the profession and our community with a high level of expertise and compassion.

Program Distinctions

  • The Master of Arts (M.A.) education ONLINE Program in Speech-Language Pathology is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

The Student Experience

  • 100% online, with primarily asynchronous courses
  • Can be completed in 5 semesters full-time, with 66 credit hours total.
  • Emphasis on cultivating the knowledge and skills necessary for graduates to be active contributors and change-makers in their communities. 
  • The Master’s ONLINE Program in Speech-Language Pathology is accredited by the Council of Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and provides academic and clinical instruction sufficient for the Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology awarded by ASHA and licensure in all states as well as the NC Department of Public Instruction.

After Graduation

  • Graduates of this program may be employed in: hospitals (inpatient, outpatient, and acute care), skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, public schools, special needs schools, private practices, and early intervention programs.
