The Student Experience

  • Peace and Conflict Studies focuses on resolving the challenges faced by individuals or professional, organizational, and community groups, such as diversity, human rights, and social justice.
  • Courses are designed not only for aspiring conflict professionals but also for students in other programs looking to enhance their skills through conflict and peace electives.
  • The program promotes a systemic and critical perspective to the challenges facing individuals, families, organizations and communities in both a global and local analytical and practical perspective.

After Graduation

  • Prepares graduates for careers in fields such as mediation, education, and negotiation, students learn needed skills for peaceful resolutions, such as mediation, negotiation, violence intervention, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Graduates of this program may also work in positions or fields  such as these: mediator, conciliator, or negotiator, restorative justice facilitator, diplomat/peacemaker, educator, trainer, or dialogue facilitator, legal or criminal justice reform professional, law enforcement, peacebuilding professional, or business/nonprofit program management.
