The RN-BSN program offers working Registered Nurses (RNs) the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in a convenient online format through a part-time plan of study. The program is offered fully online with asynchronous courses and through an online-only cohort with only one cohort per year. This program is for Registered Nurses with an active, unrestricted North Carolina nursing license.

  • The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at UNC Greensboro is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
  • The DNP nurse anesthesia concentration is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program.

The Student Experience

After Graduation

  • The RN-BSN program prepares graduates to: practice professional nursing based on inquiry, caring and standards of practice, function independently and collaboratively within the health care system to deliver evidence-based nursing care to individuals, families, groups, and communities, and provide high quality and safe nursing care as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • There is an expected 7% job growth through 2029 for RNs.
  • It is projected to add the most jobs of all types of nurses and the third-largest number of jobs of any occupation, about 371,500.
  • There is a faster than average growth in the number of outpatient care facilities that provide same-day rehabilitation and surgery. 
  • The median annual pay for a registered nurse in May 2020 was $75,330 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
